Friday Update

29 May 2020

New in the shop

We are now picking Washingpool lettuce - varieties we grow include flat or butterhead (pictured), lollo rosso and biondo, red oakleaf and red gem. All our lettuce is hand-weeded (we do not use sprays on them) and cut fresh daily.
English produce is now coming in: this week we have English bunched carrots and broccoli, aubergines from the Isle of Wight and our own sugar snap peas. We will be picking gooseberries from next week.

Back on the stall

Last Saturday saw the 'soft re-launch' of our Saturday market stall in West Street. George and Andrew were back on the stall, ably assisted by Grace, allowing Sue to concentrate on her proper job at Fruits of the Earth for the time being. To keep everyone as safe as possible we have introduced a marked walkway to keep customers clear of pedestrians, a one-way system and we can now take card payments. It was great to see our Saturday regulars again!

Bake Bridport!

Bridport Museum and Bridport Food Festival have launched Bake Bridport! - a competition inviting you to create a cake inspired by a Bridport landmark or building, or a museum object (how many tiger heads will there be, I wonder?).  For more information and how to enter, head on over to the museum website.
On the Bridport Food Festival website, there is a comprehensive list of local food and drink businesses that are providing collection and/or delivery services (scroll down the New page a bit to find it).
