Co Plan
Four organizations from Albania, Macedonia and Montenegro are implementing a project entitled "Revival of City Squares in Balkan Cities", aiming to contribute to the revival of city squares as viable public places that foster cultural identity and promote diversity through enforcement of public policies and active community participation.

The lead partner of the project is Co-PLAN, Institute for Habitat Development from Tirana, Albania while other partners are: the Coalition for Sustainable Development (CSD) from Skoplje, Macedonia; EXPEDITIO from Kotor, Montenegro and Polis University (International School of Architecture and Urban Development Policies from Tirana, Albania. The project will last for two years, until December 2012. It is funded by the Swiss Cultural Programme in the Western Balkans (CSP) under the Regional Cooperation Projects programme line

Public Presentation by Prostorož- Creativity in Public Spaces

In Kotor, on Thursday, 20 December 2012 at 7 p. m., a presentation of activities of the Association Prostorož from Ljubljana was organized.

Intervention in Kotor squares: Stories under the Vault

In the middle of December 2012, Expeditio invited the citizens of Kotor and surrounding municipalities, to lend them for several days their old lamps, chandeliers, lanterns, lampshades and flashlights. (read more)

 Publication "Revival of City Squares in Balkan Cities - Contribution to cultural and civic participative policies for livable city squares and public spaces" was accomplished using archive material of the project “Revival of City Squares in Balkan Cities”.

Guidelines for the Revival of Public Spaces [Good practice selection]

The publication ”Guidelines for the Revival of Public Spaces – Good practice selection”, in Montenegrin language, contains a selection of translated texts presenting good practice  examples related to the  planning, use and management of open public spaces that can be useful when considering some future activities for the improvement and revival of squares and other public spaces in the Balkan cities. Tirana Open Forum: Revival of City Squares in Balkan Cities

On 29 January 2013, an open forum “Revival of City Squares in Balkan Cities” was held in Titana in the premises of POLIS University.  The Forum intended to share the experience of the project "Revival of City Squares in Balkan Cities” and present the final publication of this project. The Forum was organized by Co-PLAN and Polis University.

Documentary: Revival of City Squares

A documentary “Revival of City Squares in Balkan Cities” was produced within a regional, two-year project of the same name. The documentary, lasting about 20 minutes, presents the project aims and results, focusing on the activities implemented in Kotor. (read more)

Final press conference in Skopje

The Coalition for Sustainable Development from Skopje, Macedonia, partner in the project “Revival of City Squares in Balkan Cities” well organize the project's final press conference by the end of February 2013. At the conference,  the project results will be presented , focusing on the activities implemented in Macedonia. It will be also an occasion to promote the project's final publication entitled “Revival of City Squares in Balkan Cities”.
