Weekly Newsletter
Hi everyone

I cannot believe we are one month into the new school year and summer vacation is now a distant memory. The PAC has a few events planned in October including the Halloween Costume Swap, Halloween Dance, the CPAC budget presentation and a guest speaker.

One of the highlights of this week was to see all the Orange Shirts on Wednesday, Orange Shirt Day as we remember the children who went through the Residential School System with a focus on the message that Every child Matters

Our Grade 5 and 6's went to Outdoor school this week and, by all accounts had a wonderful time.

A really big thank you to our Pizza Fun lunch team for fun lunch this week - the pizza was appreciated. Also thank you to the silent fun lunch organizers who work behind the scenes to make sure orders are placed and food delivered.

As per my email on Wednesday Carisbrooke is implementing a School Traffic Safety Project
in collaboration with the North Shore Safe Routes Advocates. In order to help us identify key safety issues we are asking parents to complete a short survey  (Click here). The survey will close on  14 October and the results presented at the next CPAC meeting 21 October in the school gym.

The presentation by our guest speaker, Sharon Selby at the last CPAC meeting on  Understanding Anxiety and how to Manage it, was the first of four sessions in our Parent Speaker evenings for this year  Sharon will be presenting the second presentation "How to develop Emotional Resilience in your Child"   in her series for the Carson Graham Family of Schools on the 7th October at the Queen Mary School 7 - 8:30 pm.

The next CPAC meeting is on Wednesday the 21st Oct and will focus on the CPAC budget for 2015/2016 and will include presentations on The Second Step Program and The Safer Routes to School Program as part of our parent speaker series.
