Weekly Newsletter
Hi everyone

A really big Thank you to our teachers who hosted the school Harvest Festival event on Friday. Events like this make Carisbrooke the great school that it is.

As part of our Memories of Carisbrooke Projects (PAC funded school projects) Todd Polich, a  mural artist is working with our students to complete two murals. One has just been completed and can be seen on the South West Wall of the school near the primary classes and the other, which is in process, is located in the inner stairwell.

Our start of year volunteer drive has brought in over 100 volunteers. This is in addition to the ongoing volunteers, the Executive and the classroom volunteers. One of the things that makes Carisbrooke such a great community is because you as parents are willing to give up your valuable time to contribute to the school. Thank you. Also while we really appreciate concerns that are raised with us we would also encourage parents to provide positive feedback to ensure we know what programs and activities are popular. Please use our comments section or contact us on

Our annual Halloween Dance is fast approaching. This is a family event for students and parents (please do not drop your child off unattended). 5-8 pm on Thursday 29 October in the school Gym.  As always, entry to the Dance is free and tickets for the Haunted House (Grade 7 Fundraiser), Punch and Pizza can be found here. Halloween goodies are by donation.  A volunteer signup sheet can be found here. Our Halloween Dance team is also doing a call out for simple decorations for outside the gym. These items can be left in a box outside the school library. Please label and they will be returned on Friday the 30th.

This year the PAC is running a Halloween Costume Swap for kids outfits - please note that the date has changed from the 21st to the 15th (this Thursday). Please drop off your costumes on a hanger at the front of the gym on Thursday morning. 8:30 to 9:00. We will record your name and  the number of items. Please return that afternoon at 3:00 to 3:30 to select your new costume(s).

As the weather turns cold and wet, our Friday lunchtime activities will soon start and we are still looking for volunteers to come and help out for an hour once or twice a month.  It will primarily be in the library but if there are enough volunteers we also open up the art room. The kids love it and it gives them an opportunity to play and create indoors.  We are also looking for donations of board games, puzzles or lego. Please place any donated items in the box outside the library.

The next CPAC meeting is on Wednesday the 21st Oct where our  CPAC budget for 2015/2016 will be approached.  Should you have any questions or comments please either send me an email or bring your questions to the meeting.
Please find the proposed budget and agenda here.

There will also be  presentations/discussions on The Second Step Program and The Safer Routes to School Program as part of our parent speaker series.  Please remember to complete the Safer Routes to School survey as this will be used to determine the Carisbrooke Safer Route to School Program

Wishing everybody a safe and happy Thanksgiving. Remember no school on Monday.
