This week, we are discussing:
Getting organised.
How to be more creative, have more time, more peace and space to attract what you want.
Getting organised and the law of attraction
How many of you are guily of holding on to things because you 'might need it one day' or 'it holds happy memories? Did you know that have too much stuff and stuff that is not organised can stifle your creativity, create more stress and take up time in your world. It's no wonder some times that we feel so tired and can't seem to attract all the great things we want. If you have 'stuff', it needs to be stored, cleaned, maintained, insured and generally looked after in some way.
You see, stuff doesn't just take up physical space, it also takes up space in our heads. When we hold onto things, just in case, we complicate our lives. Take Christmas trees as an example, we pack it, along with all the decorations and tinsel, somewhere in our house to drag it all out next year and decorate the tree for about 3 or 4 weeks a year. This is just one example of us holding onto items that are a drain on our space, time and thoughts.
So why do we keep stuff we will probably never use. We keep it for a few reasons.
1. We have a plan for this item. perhaps it is an art project we will get to one day. Let's face it, if you really wanted to do that creative thing you keep trying to convince yourself you wanted to do, you would make the time to do it. Perhaps what you really want is to recapture how being creative makes you feel.
2. We do not want to offend the person who gave it to us. Unless they are someone who actively seeks what they gave you every time they come to visit, chances are they will not even know you no longer have that item. And how do you know it was not something they re-gifted?
3. We are somehow convinced that those great jeans we have in the draw will still be fashionable when we lose weight. Why not treat yourself to some new ones when you reach your goal weight. Yes it may be handy to have some jeans to wear on the way down, but just keep one pair.
Not only does clutter take up mental and physical space in this way it can block you from receiving any more. For those who believe in the 'law of attraction' decluttering is letting the universe know that you are ready to receive new things. Holding onto items that no longer serve you is akin to saying there is not enough for everyone and if I let this item go I may need it later. A little tip, if you have not used an item in over 6 months, chances are you are not going to.
Why not make a commitment to just do 15 minutes of decluttering or organising on a daily basis. You don't have to do it all at once, but if you make a regular time each day to sort some things out, over time it will be easier, your life will be simpler and you will have more energy, time, money and space. You will be amazed at how much better you feel when you do.
