This week, we are discussing:
The great juggling act
Having it all and staying sane.
Doing too much?
I have often been accused of doing too much. And sometimes it is true. If I have a goal that I am working towards, and life outside of that goal must go on, I can push myself and I often do. This juggling act can at times though be exhausting. To reach goals does take some stretching though and this can seem uncomfortable for a period of time. So how do we maintain what we are currently doing while working towards that which we want to achieve? Here are a couple of ideas.
-
Know your limits. - If you start to feel too tired, too stressed, have trouble sleeping and start turning to alcohol, drugs or other addictions to help you cope, you probably need to eliminate some of the stresses.
-
Delegate - at times you may be able to delegate some tasks for a while. For example if you always cook dinner, you may want to negotiate a different deal in your house for a while until you reach you goal.
-
Discuss - When things are tough, talk it over. Explain to your loved ones -What the goal is (or the problem), What the solution is and how long it will take before things settle down. You will find that others are much more supportive of your efforts to improve your life if they understand those things.
-
Stay on track - if you have a specific goal you are working towards, have a plan, a timeframe and stay on track. It is easy sometimes to get distracted and go off on other dreams and adventures. If something else takes your interest, note it down as a future goal, then get on with the current one.
-
Do only those things you love - if you can find a way to not do the things you don't like doing. There will be someone else who enjoys doing those things. Let them do it. And if there isn't then make it a goal to earn enough to pay some to do it for you.

Always continue the climb. It is possible for you to do whatever you choose, if you first get to know who you are and are willing to work with a power that is greater than ourselves to do it.

Be miserable. Or motivate yourself. Whatever has to be done, it's always your choice.
