freedom is not what you can get. That is options and choices. True freedom is a mindset that you adopt.
This week, we are discussing:

What is freedom?

It's not something money can buy.

When people think of freedom they may think of many things. Freedom can mean safety from wars, it can be freedom from poverty, it can mean options and it can mean freedom over our body and what we do with it. I would challenge you this week to think of mental freedom. We are often enslaved by what we think. Freedom is about what you think about your choices. There may be times in life when the choice you make in relation to what you think is the only choice you have.

We think things like

  • - I could never do that
  • - they would never like me
  • - I'll never lose weight
  • - I am such a loser
  • - Life is so unfair

and the list goes on and on.

True freedom comes when we become aware of our thinking and we make a conscious choice to only entertain those thoughts that are beneficial to us, that make us feel good and don't hurt others. When we do this, after  a while it will become a habit to think in positive ways. This is true freedom. When you no longer entertain thoughts that make you feel 'less than' in some way, you will have more energy, better days, smile more and attract even more good things in to your world. Freedom comes when you stop renting out space in your thoughts to those who don't want the best for you, those who may be jealous, those who may not want you to succeed and those who are just unhappy. Choose wisely.

“People demand freedom of speech as a compensation for the freedom of thought which they seldom use.”

“Lock up your libraries if you like, but there is no gate, no lock, no bolt that you can set upon the freedom of my mind.”
