The power of breathing

It is so vital and yet we forget to do it.

Just try it. 

I don't know about you but sometimes there is so much going on in my world that when I take a moment to stop I realise that I have been holding my breath. Sometimes I might have been breathing in a very shallow way. Either way, I don't feel great, I don't feel centred and I don't feel strong. And when I do take a couple of breaths I see things more clearly, literally. My vision is better. My hearing is better. My sense of smell, taste and touch is heightened. Everything feels more alive. So I would challenge you this week to take a few moments in each day to just Breathe! You can do it when you are sitting at the traffic lights, waiting in a queue, standing at the clothes line hanging washing or relaxing while wathching TV. So let me tell you how. 

If you are alone you can place your hand on your heart and take a breath. Feel it wash through your body. Feel how alive your body feels when you do that. 

Then take another. 

Then take another. 

I guarantee you, you will feel better.
