If you are anything like me there may have been times in life where you have had doubts or been unable to make a decision about something. And that's OK. It is human nature to doubt things. It isn't doubt that causes you to miss out on opportunities. It is indecision.
And there are two types of doubts. The first is whether something is right for us. The second one is about our abilities and whether we can make it happen. I know some of the greatest things I have done in my life I have done not because I had no doubts but because I knew that it was something I could do. That is where the personal growth is. It isn't in the books and the seminars, it is in the actions and self belief.
If you are presented with or think of something and you doubt it, that' s often of the reasoning process. If you doubt it and then don't act on it, then one of a few things can happen. You might miss what is a great opportunity because of your doubts or you might leave yourself in a bad situation because you doubt you could do better if you left it. Doubt can be helpful because it causes us to look at the pro's and con's of a situation. Then we can be in a better place to decide.
In his book 'Blink" Malcolm Gladwell talks about how we make snap decisions and how most of the time our first instinct is the right one. The thing we have to think about is whether our doubt is because something is not right for us or whether it is right for us but we doubt our own ability to make it happen. So, while you may have doubts you also have choices. Question, feel what you feel, looks at pro's and con's and decide what to do.
have a great week.
