Do you ever feel as if the fight for equality for women may have gone too far?
This week, we are discussing:

Gender energetics.

Do you really want equality or is it balance you want?

Wikepedia describes energetics as...
Energetics (also called energy economics) is the study of energy under transformation. Because energy flows at all scales, from the quantum level to the biosphere and cosmos, energetics is a very broad discipline, encompassing for example thermodynamics, chemistry, biological energetics, biochemistry and ecological energetics.

In my years of coaching I have spoken with many men and women. During my studies at university there were lots of discussions on human rights, gender, feminism, 'new families' and the list goes on. I have always been interested in what makes people tick. When I was coaching international scholars many of them were studying in the areas of women and children's rights.  I think there is nothing greater than getting to a point where everyone has opportunities for education, shelter,  employment and to feel safe.

I have also listened to the discontent of so many men and women.
The dance between masculine and feminine energy is under transformation. I hear comments all the time like 'where have all the men gone?' or 'how can I just meet a nice woman and spoil her without getting attacked for it?'. It seems to me that both men and women are struggling to find their place in our modern world where everyone is equal. I know that there will be those who argue that women still earn less than men and we are not yet at this beautiful place where women are in the boardrooms of international organisations. And I know there are some women who are there. But when we leave work and return to our homes, who are we then?

I love being a woman. At my core I am a feminine person. I love dancing, fun, feeling, long conversations, being passionate and in the 'flow'. I love being around people who are masculine - strong, analytical, logical, assertive, goal focussed and protective. And a big part of being human is being able to switch between the two. In the end it isn't equality we want. It's balance. We are all masculine and feminine energy. We flow between the two. The working and business world is a masculine space. the home and family are feminine spaces. This is not old fashioned ideas, this is how things are.

What happens is that many women in the past have put on a mask of masculine energy to go in to the workforce. And when they come home they forget to remove it. And many men have put on a feminine mask to be what they think it is that women want. While many of us want a truly passionate relationship with someone, most of us are wearing a mask that makes it almost impossible. The passion and sparks in a relationship come from that polarity. You need both energies to create the spark. And the energies have nothing to do with gender.

A women may be masculine energy at her core and a man may be feminine and they can still have passion. When both people are in the same energy, they have a strong bond, connection and will even love each other, but the passion will not be there. So, my challenge for you this week is to own your energy. Find out what you are at your core, behind the mask, and embrace it.  If you are in a relationship, talk to your partner about it. If you are not in a relationship then spend time being in your core energy. If you are a single woman, independent, who doesn't need a man around that's ok, but just practice allowing the men who are around to be men. Let them open a door, to help you with your goals, to talk out ideas and logic. And save the deeper, emotional stuff for your girlfriends.

I could write for days about all this and now run workshops about it. If you want to see more about the workshop go to this link

Email me your thoughts, discuss with your friends, comment on our facebook page and just have a think about this. As we have more opportunity in our lives we can sometimes lose sight of the ones we had before. The opportunity to be in our core energy.

have a great week.

Til next time

“A woman is human.

She is not better, wiser, stronger, more intelligent, more creative, or more responsible than a man.

Likewise, she is never less.

Equality is a given.

A woman is human.”
