A Unique Valentine Gift
When Mark and his family got our call to attend a Valentine’s Party at a school in Lekki, they didn’t know what was in store. In faith, they arose early to leave their home in Sango Otta, Ogun State, for the long journey to Lekki Phase 1, in Lagos State. Oh, but it was worth it! When they arrived, they were greeted by smiling faces of children and grown ups, in red and in full cheer. Valentine's Brunch With The FLA Kids
On the 21st of February, the celebration of love continued for us at the FLA Home. We hosted our kids and their families, our friends and sponsors, for a feast tagged “Valentine’s Brunch with the FLA Kids”. It was proudly sponsored by Standard Alliance Insurance and Airtel Nigeria, who were well represented with their stand and banners at the event. The MD of Standard Alliance Group, Mrs Orerhime Emerhor-Iwuagwu (aka Rhe), was present, and brought the delicious cake we all enjoyed! Click on the picture to read more... The Future I Dream Of...
Words that made us cry...
At our Valentine's Brunch with the FLA Kids on Saturday 21st, Naomi broke down in tears while she read out her dream of buying a house for her mother, who has been through a lot while single-handedly raising her and her sibling. Everyone was touched at how this nine year old girl felt so deeply for her mother’s struggle that we were all brought to tears.
Naomi won the award for the best essay, on the topic "The Future I Dream Of", in the Primary category. Caroline won the prize for the Secondary category, and also read about her aspirations to become an accountant.

Reading through the FLA Kids' essay submissions on their dream future, we cannot but continue to fuel these dreams, knowing that they are worth every kobo and time we give. If you are touched like we are, and understand the need for these outstanding kids to get all the support they can, please become a child sponsor today.
Until we write again, we wish you a great new month!
