We Discovered Six!
We went in search for five amazing talents, and got more than we bargained for...
More than six months ago, we started on the search for five talented youngsters by hosting our first ever Talent Search Week competition. The winners would join our #FLAKids and receive five years sponsorship from Fair Life Africa Foundation to develop their skills and pursue their passions. We thought it would be a simple exercise carried out in our office, with minimal fuss. But when we started working on plans, we realised that we had thought too small...
Six months later, 28 contestants made their way to Ultima Studios at Christmas time to take part in the Fair Life Africa Talent Search, in partnership with Ultima Limited. After some intensive training and emotional eliminations, SIX, rather than five, children remained standing after the grand finale! 12 year old Beadmaker, Favour, from Akwa Ibom State, had been saved by the judges as the sixth finalist, with a pledge to sponsor her through the programme for the next five years!
The top five winners were 12 year old Dancer, Faith from Akwa-Ibom State; 14 year old Actress, Ibukun from Osun State; 15 year old Singer, Victor from Delta State; 16 year old Footballer, Daniel from Abia State and 17 year old Fine Artist, Ramon from Oyo State.
We were very encouraged when the founder of Newsong Academy, Mr Sola Soetan pledged a musical contract with our singer, Victor, and extended training and talent development to the other three contestants in the musical category! Also his wife, Benedicta Soatan, from The Society of Performing Arts Nigeria, decided to sponsor 9 year old Dancer, Chidinma Okorie from Imo State, for one year.
We would like to use this opportunity to appreciate all the individuals and organisations that partnered with us to make this event a wonderful success! You are all amazing and special people and we pray for your continued prosperity!
