As the year closes, we want to
let you know that the third biennial ART+CLIMATE=CHANGE festival will be
held from 23 April to 19 May 2019. The 2019 festival will focus on reaching new
audiences and communities. We aim to ensure that the empowering ideas and
opportunities resonate beyond the inner city - in
suburban and regional areas, inspiring possibilities of transition and
Our festival website will
launch on 28 February 2019, but don't worry; we'll keep you up to date with the
upcoming program and events in the New Year!
We leave you with some
fantastic images from last month’s ‘School Strike for 4 Climate Action’. That
was a truly momentous and inspiring rally led by brilliant young people
demanding action on climate change. We hope this rally, alongside the important cultural work of our
participating artists, actors, writers, scientists, climate experts and
curators in ART+CLIMATE=CHANGE 2019, inspire those who hold the reins of power
to act for humanity’s sake, for a just and sustainable future for all life on
 earth. Safe and happy holidays.

CLIMARTE is an initiator, educator and a catalyst for artists and arts organisations to engage in climate-related - socially engaged arts projects. CLIMARTE presents the biennial ART+CLIMATE=CHANGE festival that in 2019 will consider ideas and concepts around themes of art and activism, community engagement, mitigation and accelerated action on climate change. The festival will feature over 30 curated exhibitions across Victoria’s public and private gallery sector, keynote lectures by leading local and international guests, theatre works and over 30 public programs all presented free of charge. Alongside festival exhibitions, our collaborative programs will bring together experts in arts practice and curatorship, with some of the foremost researchers in climate and environmental science, policy and future visioning alongside thinkers on cultural, philosophical and psychological consequences of climate change.
