"Ritual" is part of the word "Spiritual."
This Sunday, we at Douglas UCC will be participating in a very powerful Burning Bowl ritual, a ceremony of purification, transformation and renewal. We hope you can join us on this last day of 2018, as we prepare with great expectations for the year ahead.
PLEASE JOIN US THIS SUNDAY AT 10 AM

Thank you to all who contributed to the UCC's Christmas Fund last Sunday. We collected $686, which our church will match for a total of $1,372 to the United Church of Christ to assist retired clergy in financial need. Thank you to all for your generous giving.
We are seeking volunteers who are willing to shovel snow outside the church on Sunday mornings this winter. If you can help, please sign the sheet in the Friendship Hall. Thanks!
Our January Potluck on Sunday, January 13, will be a Pancake Breakfast in the Friendship Hall.
Thank you, once again, to our church member, John Willming, for facilitating. It will be a fun way to celebrate the new year together.
We still need one more person to provide treats and help with clean up on Sunday, January 6. Please contact Karen Clark at firstname.lastname@example.org if you might be willing to help. Also, if you might want to provide treats and help with clean up during 2019, please let Karen know.
Pastor Sal will be a guest on tomorrow morning's "Morning Grind" radio show.
His segment comes on at 8:30 a.m.
You can tune in at 92.7 or 103.7 FM.
Our Church Directory is being updated for 2019. Please visit the “Directory Kiosk” on the Friendship Hall table to review your information, make changes/additions, or to add yourself as a new listing. Thank you to Mike VerMerris for facilitating this for us.
On January 19, 2019, thousands will come together across the U.S. to celebrate the two-year anniversary of the 2017 Women’s March on Washington.
In a show of solidarity with the national anniversary march, an official “sister” march will be taking place in Saugatuck/Douglas on January 19, beginning at Beery Field in Douglas and marching over the bridge into Saugatuck, ending at Lucy’s Little Kitchen.
Once again this year, we will begin the day with an intention-setting service at Douglas UCC at 10 a.m., then walk together to Beery Field tand begin marching at 11 a.m.. We hope you will join us.
The next meeting of the True North Women’s Group will take place on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at 10 a.m. at 88 Spring Street. Newcomers are always welcome.
