"I have baptized you with water, but One is coming who will baptize you with the Spirit," John the Baptist said. What does it mean to be "Baptized with Spirit"? Come join us this Sunday as we explore the significance of baptism in the life of Jesus and in our own lives.

This Sunday, please join us for a Pancake Breakfast in the Friendship Hall following our worship service.
Thank you, once again, to our church member, John Willming, for facilitating.
** If possible, please try to avoid the Friendship Hall prior to service, as John and his team will be busy getting things ready. Please try to use the front entrance of the church only on Sunday. We can skip the nametags this week. Thank you!
Our Church Directory is being updated for 2019. Please visit the “Directory Kiosk” on the Friendship Hall table to review your information, make changes/additions, or to add yourself as a new listing. Thank you to Mike VerMerris for facilitating this for us.
Save-the-Date: Sunday, January 27, 2019 Please join us for our first Congregational Meeting of the year on Sunday, January 27 at 11:30 a.m. in the Friendship Hall. We will be getting updates from our Church Council and committees. All church members are strongly encouraged to attend.
On January 19, 2019, thousands will come together across the U.S. to celebrate the two-year anniversary of the 2017 Women’s March on Washington.
In a show of solidarity with the national anniversary march, an official “sister” march will be taking place in Saugatuck/Douglas on January 19, beginning at Beery Field in Douglas and marching over the bridge into Saugatuck, ending at Lucy’s Little Kitchen.
Once again this year, we will begin the day with an intention-setting service at Douglas UCC at 10 a.m., then walk together to Beery Field tand begin marching at 11 a.m.. We hope you will join us.
Snow Closings - Should we ever need to cancel a Sunday service due to snow this winter, we will post an announcement on the scroll of WZZM, Channel 13. We will also post closings on our church's Facebook page: www.facebook.com/douglasucc
We are seeking volunteers who are willing to shovel snow outside the church on Sunday mornings this winter. If you can help, please sign the sheet in the Friendship Hall. Thanks! (We have hired a young man to shovel from Monday thru Saturday).
The next meeting of the True North Women’s Group will take place on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at 10 a.m. at 88 Spring Street. Newcomers are always welcome.
