It's the last day of 2020 and we wish you all a fabulous New Year's Eve and New Year's Day! We hope 2021 brings everyone much-needed change and relief during these challenging times. With multiple vaccines now available, we hope there is an end in sight to the pandemic. We know times are still tough, so we want to bring a little cheer to your lives this NYE. Keep reading for more details on fantastic specials, price breaks, price drops and new products now available at The Green Cross!
In observance of New Year's Day tomorrow, we are reducing our hours of operation to 11 AM to 7 PM. We resume our normal hours of operation on January 2.

Thank you in advance for understanding and we wish you all a very happy and safe New Year's Eve!
In an effort to prioritize the servicing of Seniors (age 65+) and members with disabilities (SSDI holders), The Green Cross has implemented a Priority Service Program from 8 AM to 10 AM daily, 7 days a week. With this new program, qualifying members are able to skip ahead in line during these hours to receive assistance with purchases as quickly as possible. We want to ensure we do our part to reduce risks for our most vulnerable members.

Thank you in advance for understanding!
We value your feedback! Please give us 5 minutes of your time to complete our anonymous Annual Member Survey. The more feedback we receive, the better we can improve our products and services going forward. We will be closing the survey on Monday, January 4, so please ensure you take it before the deadline ends. Thank you in advance for your time!
As a community-based organization, The Green Cross believes strongly if giving back to our community. Here is a comprehensive list of organizations we regularly donate to and we support. Cannabis Goes From Stigmatized to Essential: 2020 in Review

Even before the coronavirus pandemic defined the year, and perhaps a generation, 2020 was slated to be a time of reckoning for the cannabis industry. Humbled by an ongoing market correction and subsequent cash crunch, many cannabis companies faced a tough year ahead — even without a global pandemic to contend with.

Throughout the terrible lows of 2020, though, there were unexpected flickers of optimism. As this infamous year winds to a close, the industry will head into 2021 propelled by titanic shifts in the perception of cannabis in the U.S. and unprecedented political tailwinds. Read more »

California’s new Senator once did a PSA with Cheech Marin

Earlier today California Gov. Gavin Newsom announced that the state’s current secretary of state, Alex Padilla, will fill the vacancy left by Sen. Kamala Harris, who will be sworn in as Vice President Harris on Jan. 20, 2021.

The appointment bodes well for cannabis law reform on both the national and state level. Sen. Padilla is expected to offer at least equal support for legalization as Harris—if not more. As senator, Harris sponsored the broadest bill yet to end marijuana prohibition, the MORE Act. That bill would delete the type of marijuana crimes she once prosecuted as San Francisco District Attorney, and later as California State Attorney General. Read more »

Congressional Ban On Mailing E-Cigarettes Appears To Cover Marijuana Vapes

The House and Senate passed a large-scale spending bill on Monday that includes a provision to restrict how electronic cigarettes can be sold online and shipped—and it could have an impact on the marijuana industry, too.

The text of the proposal uses an expansive definition of what qualifies as an “electronic nicotine delivery system” that seems to include products that don’t even contain nicotine. Read more »

California on track to collect $1 billion in cannabis taxes in 2020

California is on pace to collect $1 billion in taxes from licensed cannabis sales in 2020, even amid challenges of the coronavirus pandemic and a still thriving black market for it, Gov. Gavin Newsom’s senior adviser on cannabis business said Thursday.

The rate of legal sales has increased this year, and in the third quarter the state fetched $306.7 million in excise, cultivation and sales taxes, bringing the overall year-to-date total to $777 million, said Nicole Elliot, who delivered the keynote during a virtual regional cannabis conference sponsored by the North Bay Business Journal. Read more »

California cannabis companies will have to pivot, again, under new stay-at-home order

Facing the prospect of a new stay-at-home order, California marijuana businesses might have to scramble yet again to stay in compliance with business restrictions designed to combat a surge in coronavirus infections.

The new order takes effect Saturday, and its restrictions will be implemented only if any of five specific California regions see ICU bed capacities drop below 15% – a threshold not yet met by the five regions. Read more »
