Introducing a new-to-us jewelry artist is always a special moment for me. I'm very happy to be sharing these pieces straight from Erika Mark's hands and jeweler's bench in Southern Arizona. She talks about loving "the way that a hard, durable material can be turned into something that appears delicate, soft and luminous." I definitely think she has achieved that in the curves of these pieces. The addition of warm copper adds an entirely different layer to the rings and necklace that it appears on.

Erika also speaks a lot about her efforts toward sustainability in her jewelry making and her life in general, which I personally find inspiring. She and her partner live in a straw bale home that they built themselves (yes, seriously) that is also off grid and completely solar-powered. Amazing, no?
