Message from the Executive Director

We had a very successful October highlighted by two outstanding events in celebration of Small Business Week. The first was a joint presentation by the Grimsby, Flamborough, Hamilton and Stoney Creek Chambers, Titled Business Growth - Expert Advice Interactive Panel. Panelists included Michelle Weatherdon of Crown Ridge Bed and Breakfast, Ron Foxcroft of Fox 40 International and Fluke Transportation, Cal Bosveld of Serve Media, and Colin Doncaster and Kirsten Bodenstedt of Peregrine Labs. The moderator was Mike Fortune. Each panel member offered a great deal of expert advice based on their own life experiences with launching their own businesses.

The second event was our annual Stoney Creek Chamber Open House. This event was well attended complete with good food, good door prizes, fun and of course an evening of quality networking.

On November 11th we observe Remembrance Day to honour those Canadians, past and present who served to protect our great country. Ceremonies will be held at the Stoney Creek Cenotaph on King Street at 11:00 am. The Chamber will be represented by a wreath placement.  I urge everyone to wear a poppy to show your respect for those who gave so much.

I would be remiss if I didn't mention our annual Holiday Gathering. This year it will be held on Thursday December 4th from 5:30 - 7:30 pm at the Express Restaurant at 349 Grays Road.

This is one of our most well attended events where our members enjoy the great food that the folks at Express always serves to go along with some great networking opportunities.
