Toronto, February 11, 2016 – Khao San Road, one of Toronto’s most popular dining destinations, is closing the doors to its Adelaide location after dinner service on Friday, February 26th for a brief hiatus over the next few months. The restaurant, which opened in 2011 and has developed a cult following since, will resume regular service in the spring at 11 Charlotte Street, 250 meters south west of its current location.
The move ushers in major changes for the restaurant that are sure to please existing and new customers alike. The 11 Charlotte location will add 30 more seats, an almost 50% increase in seating area in comparison to their current capacity which seats 60. In addition to the increase in square footage, Khao San Road will add delivery options throughout the hiatus, ensuring that patrons can still get their Khao Soi fix despite the move.
“As our lease is set to expire at our current location, we are forced to make the decision to close temporarily in order to transition to a larger space that will better serve our customers and employees,†says Monte Wan, owner of Khao San Road, “We are taking all of the necessary steps to ensure our loyal employees are looked after during this transition, and you’ll find many of them at our sister restaurant, Nana, as we begin the move in the coming weeks.â€
Sister restaurant, Nana (785 Queen West), will remain open with amended operating hours to accommodate hungry guests. Nana will be open from Wednesday-Sunday for dinner only, from 5-10 p.m. on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays and from 5-11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Fridays and Saturdays will also feature a late night menu of snacks, and the restaurant will remain open for drinks until 1 a.m. Nana will operate as Khao San Road from Mondays to Saturdays for lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and for dinner from Monday to Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. to 10 p.m. In addition, Nana will be adding some of Khao San Road’s most popular menu items to their current line-up, including Pad Thai, Khao Soi and Pad Gra Prao.
