Developing Finnish Science, Technology and Innovation Cooperation between Europe, Africa, Asia and the LAC region
1. FinCEAL+ Open Call for Travel Grants
The call is open to researchers and PhD students based in Finnish research institutions, who are working within the FinCEAL Plus themes and engaged in or planning cooperation with African, Asian or LAC partners. Deadline for applications is 15th May. The specifications of the Call and the application form are available here.
2. FinCEAL+ kick-off seminar on Horizon2020 held in Helsinki on April 15th and 16th
The FinCEAL Plus kick-off event, organized 15 - 16 April, was a brilliant success. The event titled 'Finland's International Research Cooperation - Making the Most of Horizon 2020', gathered together over 100 participants, mostly researchers engaged in international research cooperation. The first day of the event featured a plenary session with shared experiences from research cooperation and partnerships in practice. The day continued with networking sessions on Asia and LAC. Second day of the event included a Horizon 2020 training focusing on preparing applications with 3rd country partners. Case examples of H2020 consortium building and proposal preparation were analysed and concrete advice offered. More information on the event including pictures on our website. 3. FinCEAL Impact Booklet available online
FinCEAL impact and achievements from the 2013-2014 period have now been published in a booklet titled "FinCEAL 2013-2014: Impacting Finnish Research Collaboration". The online booklet is available here.
4. Rolling Call for Project Preparatory Funding
FinCEAL Plus offers Project Preparatory Funding to support applicants based in Finnish institutions who are in the process of preparing an application for collaborative research funding from Horizon 2020, ERA-NET or the EuropeAid funding schemes with partners from Europe and a third region, either Africa, Asia or Latin America and the Caribbean. Applicants can apply for grants between 2000€ - 5000€. More information on how to apply
5. FinCEAL Infobank open to Asia-related projects
The FinCEAL Infobank is a multidisciplinary database of research and capacity building projects carried out by the Finnish research community on/in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean. The purpose of the Infobank is to facilitate knowledge exchange, communication and cooperation opportunities between researchers focusing on these regions in Finland.
