2. FinCEAL Event Grant Call for organizing LAC related events
FinCEAL has opened an Event Grant Call to support the organization of workshops, seminars, conferences or other types of events related to science, technology and/or innovation cooperation with the LAC region or both Europe and the LAC region. The grant is open to research groups/teams based in Finnish research institutions, which are actively engaged in cooperation or seeking to build new cooperation with research partners from the LAC region. The event can be organized in Finland, another European country or in the LAC region. Including European partners in the event is not mandatory, but preferred. The application deadline is 13 February 2015. More information
3. Call for Papers for EU-SPRI Forum 2015 Annual Conference
The call for papers for EU-SPRI 2015 conference “Innovation policies for economic and social transitions: Developing strategies for knowledge, practice and institutions†has been launched. The call is for Extended Abstracts of 1000-1500 words and the submission deadline is 8 March 2015. FinCEAL is participating in the organization of special track 4, “Innovation collaboration to tackle societal challenges and promote developmentâ€. The conference will be held in Helsinki, Finland 10-12 June 2015. More information
4. Development Research Day 2015 in Helsinki
The Development Research Day 2015 will be held at the University of Helsinki 12-13 February 2013 under the theme "Rethinking Responsibility in Development: Contested Relations between Citizens, States and Corporations". The event's keynote speakers include Dr Dinah Raja, author of “In Good Company: An Anatomy of Corporate Social Responsibility†and Prof Bernadeta Killian, author of “The Women’s Land Rights Movement, Customary Law and Religion in Tanzaniaâ€. 5. New FinCEAL Staff Members
The FinCEAL team has new staff members! FinCEAL’s Africa coordinator Eva Kagiri is going for a 1-year leave starting 30 January and is substituted at the University of Jyväskylä by Jenni Ratilainen. She can already be reached at jenni.m.ratilainen(a)jyu.fi or tel. 040 805 37 52. The team's new Asia coordinator has also been recruited and will be introduced very soon!
