UniPID News & Events
  • The UniPID Coordination Unit is moving. On the 27th of May the UniPID Board decided that the Coordination Unit will move from the University of Jyväskylä to the University of Helsinki, starting from January 2021. At the core of UniPID's new strategy (2020-2025) is the call for strengthening the ownership of member universities and enhancing the societal impact of the network. In this spirit, the UniPID Board considered the network’s principle of circulation and the opportunities to strengthen the policy dialogue as solid grounds for their decision to transfer the network coordination to the University of Helsinki. The UniPID Board is grateful for the University of Jyväskylä’s 15 years of coordinating the network and for the strong support from the university leadership and administration, which has offered the network a solid and rich foundation. UniPID’s activities will continue in Helsinki guided by the UniPID Board, which consists of representatives from all nine member universities and two observer members, each offering their unique contribution and perspective to UniPID’s work. • UniPID introduces four new virtual studies courses. The Virtual Studies Call for Course Proposals 2020 attracted 18 high quality proposals, out of which the UniPID Virtual Studies working group selected four courses. In this year's call special attention was given to proposals that address the role of climate change in sustainable development, especially in the Global South, as well as courses produced in collaboration with the course providers’ partners in the Global South. See the the new courses here.
  • The Coordination Unit wishes you happy summer holidays! The whole office will be on holidays from the 27th of July until the 7th of August. However, the team will be spending most of their holidays intermittently, so that in urgent matters there is usually someone reading the unipid-info@jyu.fi email address. The next UniPID Newsletter will be coming out in August.
