Charmaine Minniefield in collaboration with Civil Rights photographer Dr. Doris Derby creates "Watch Me Learn" for the NOT A CRIME  international human rights campaign in Atlanta's King Historic District.

"It was a great honor to paint alongside Joe "King" Dreher and Fabian Williams, two of Atlanta's most celebrated contemporary artists for this international campaign for the rights to education. Our murals are in the King Historic District. I collaborated with Civil Rights photographer, Dr. Doris Derby to present an iconic image from her personal collection.

Now the project wants me to come to New York!

This continues my community-based work here in Atlanta which uses art to address issues of social justice. Now that the NOT A CRIME campaign features my work and is going to Harlem, to focus on the rights to education, it gives an opportunity to be intentional about a wide range of relevant issues which can spark conversation and awareness in ways that are meaningful. This is the work that of the artist/activitst. I am excited."

My new new "street name" is @BLACKAGNELATL - fun!
