Kicking of 2019 with Tusiata Avia's
"I want to frighten my lovers
let them sit across from me
and whistle through their teeth."
Silo welcomes you back to 2019 with the brutal, funny, sexy and empowering production of WILD DOGS UNDER MY SKIRT.
Through her vivid, compelling and at times hilarious characters, Tusiata Avia paints a deeply personal view of Pacific Island life and its sometimes uneasy collisions with the Niu Sila way.
Bringing to life Avia’s revolutionary poetry is an ensemble of electrifying performers, under the dutiful direction of Anapela Polata'ivao (Best Director, Auckland Theatre Awards 2016; Actress of the Year, Wellington theatre Awards 2018).
Introducing you to Petmal Lam, Joanna Toloa, Saane Green, Maila Baker and Stacey Leilua who return to Auckland after performing award-winning season's in New Zealand Festival, Nelson Arts Festival and Hawke's Bay Arts Festival.
Experience this fierce and full-of-heart theatre work, opening next month as part of the Auckland Arts Festival.
"A contradiction, a surprise, a slap in the face and twinkle of the eye"
"One of the best pieces of theatre I've seen in many years."
