Was is just me or was that an incredibly powerful end to the morning service yesterday?
If you missed it yesterday then you must catchup online as Michael spoke about the ‘Choices & Decisions’ that we make every day and how they impact our lives. At the end of the talk he asked Brenda Watkins (wife of the late Eifion Watkins and founding Pastor of ABC) to share a story of some key choices they made in life. When he then asked Brenda’s son Mark and grand daughter Emily to come and join Brenda, the picture of Three generations of a family that had been touched by the decision Eifion made was visibly powerful.
I must confess it was a really powerful image that has had a real effect on me. Even yesterday after lunch as I grabbed a few minutes relaxation in the garden bathing in the sunshine. I found myself considering some choices that I have ahead this year with a greater understanding that some of those choices will affect my children and a far wider circle of people than just my wife Ruth and I.
Most of us have heard the phrase “Let’s not make good decisions, let’s make God decisions”. May I encourage you with Michael to see the bigger picture in the choices and decisions we take making sure that we honour God in every aspect of our lives.
I love the message translation of Proverbs 3 verses 5-6 that was read yesterday:
'Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he’s the one who will keep you on track. Don’t assume that you know it all.'
Have a great week!
