Katie Noonan and friends close ARTBAR 2014
Thursday 30 October 2014 |  6 - 10pm | $48+bf

ARTBAR - where music, food, wine and art come together!
Outdoors on the Perth Cultural Centre wetlands stage
An exclusive live show featuring Katie Noonan, Angie Hart, Melody Pool and Sam Buckingham performing under the stars in the Perth Cultural Centre to see out the 2014 ARTBAR season.
Songs That Made Me unites four of Australia's finest female singer/songwriters to share stories of their influences, artistic journeys and the landmark songs that have sound-tracked their lives. Following a sell-out tour of the East Coast in late 2013, interest and demand has been so great that Katie has revamped the show for another tour in 2014, including the premiere performance in Perth.

Drawing from a list of artists ranging from Jeff Buckley, Joni Mitchell, Prince, The Pretenders, Cyndi Lauper, Sia, George and Frente these artists put a truly unique spin on some of the songs that have shaped their lives. The four singers share the stage for the entire show and collaborate naturally as they discuss and perform the songs, in a relaxed, intimate and spontaneous way.

Katie Noonan explains, “There is nothing I love more than sitting around with my girlfriends, talking and sharing stories. But as a musician, I find we don't get to share the stage with other artists very often - especially female artists. I thought this would be a wonderful and unique opportunity to share the stage through story and song and hang out with cool chicks at the same time! I am very excited to share the space with these gorgeous women whom I admire and respect, and think it will be a very special night for the audience and us!”
A charity album Songs That Made Me will be released in conjunction with Cancer Council of Australia and Universal Music in October.

Artbar tickets include entry to the Richard Avedon People exhibition on the night, prior to the main performance commencing. Richard Avedon People celebrates the work of American photographer Richard Avedon (1923 to 2004). With work from 1949 to 2002, the exhibition offers an in-depth overview of Avedon’s achievements in the art of black and white portraiture photography. In the show, instantly recognisable and influential artists, celebrities, and political activists including Truman Capote, Elizabeth Taylor, Twiggy, Malcolm X, and Bob Dylan are presented alongside portraits of the unknown or long forgotten.

This ARTBAR event will be held outdoors at the wetlands amphitheatre of the Perth Cultural Centre, Art Gallery of Western Australia, Perth.
