Cazenovia Forum Lecture Series
Have you noticed our new look? We have undergone a facelift.
The Cazenovia Forum has a new look and feel. Although the pandemic has, for the time being, restricted our ability to provide live events, we have been busy redesigning our website and creating new ways to provide opportunities to hear and engage with with nationally and internationally known experts on a variety of key issues. The website is more inviting and will include information on upcoming events and links to sites that will allow us to continue learning and discussing the issues of the day. Take a look at https://cazenoviaforum.com and let us know what you think.
October 7th virtual screening "Driving While Black"
The Cazenovia Forum is proud to be working with WCNY to bring a virtual event to our supporters. “The dream of mobility … accompanied by the reality of racism” is the theme of the documentary film “Driving While Black” which WCNY will premiere in October. Prior to the showing of the full film on October 13, WCNY is offering a preview and a question-and-answer session on Wednesday, Oct. 7, sponsored by Northwestern Mutual and the Cazenovia Forum. The live Q&A following the preview will feature Gretchen Sorin, co-director of the film and author of the book “Driving While Black”, and co-director Ric Burns. Sorin, Distinguished Professor and Director of The Cooperstown Graduate Program, started her research more than 20 years ago assembling visual records and oral histories of how the automobile provided greater mobility for Black Americans while further exposing them to systemic racism across the country.
