I know there's nothing new about Edgeryders having yet another big idea and working on making it work.

But we've got something bigger this time.

After juggling the idea of obtaining an enormous grant to solve world's problems we found one, and we are very serious about succeeding in this race.We plan to create a community-based, open source backed health care system model that works for everyone. We started building the application and the process, but what we need to make it sturdy, solid, fireproof is a huge community of changemakers to work on this collectively. Join us. Tell your friends.

100&Change/OPEN&Change

First of all:  We will submit an application, not as a large organization but as a "smart swarm" of small ones. Read Alberto's post explaining why and how we can win this competition.

Everything you have to know about our application and the challenge organized by MacArthur's Foundation you can find in this document. If you have a relevant project, if you know a person who does, if you feel like helping us coordinate the work and make a shiny, bold, beautiful statement out of this application - please join us. For the people with relevant initiatives, who want to be part of the application - fill in a short form and we will get back to you briefly. For those of you who want to help to coordinate - use this spreadsheet to tell us which tasks you want to take over and leave your contact.

These are fantastic news for us and our friends in Galway - the city won the title of the European Capital of Culture 2020. We've been reporting for a couple of months from the spot, as Noemi and Alberto went to Galway to help to shape the edgy parts of the application. We're preparing much more. Stay tuned, or jump in by leaving a comment in the post.

One of these amazing stories that pour in as Op3nCare unfolds. Sabina took us for a journey to Romania, where a network of self-organized people brought from abroad drugs that save lives but are absent for various reasons on the national market.

A weekend read from Backchannel about Gufi, DIY Internet network that grew beyond everyone's expectations.
