Living on the Edge. Every Friday, June 21 - October 29 #Building #LOTE #CommunityCall

Yuhu!

Last time (Friday 5th) we had a long, nice later-in-the-morning Building Lote session as announced - at 11AM CEST - and decided to keep the starting time at 11 from now on because it's most comfortable for people attending the calls so far. Although there's always a chance that someone is online already from 9AM CEST in the hangout, doing some Lote work, or at random times on some other weekdays. Lovely interactions have already happened spontaneously on the hangout channel and that's what it's meant for! Go for it, and share the inspiration!
Thank you for all the feedback to the first recap! We realised that we need some #howto tutorials for using the Lote3 workspace, and to take it easy in summer ;)
Following: a run-through of the topics occurred over the past week; and looking forward to meeting you again on Friday! 11 AM CEST, we'll be there!

Your Guide to Making Meaningful Projects Happen
CommunityCall
We're looking forward to seeing you guys again on the community hangout channel
on Friday, July 12th at 11AM CEST!

What would your Guide look like?

We're inviting everyone to answer this: What should a perfect Guide to Make Meaningful Projects Happen have in it to be useful to you personally? What questions should it answer, what are you particularly curious about when it comes to successful projects? In which form should it be? It doesn’t necessarily have to be a book, it can be a living document, a movie or series of videos... What else is out there? Or what else could it be like that is not out there? Draw it in the box ^___^ or come write your ideas in the comments »
And while you're at it, you might create a track proposal as well!

LOTE3 & the unMonastery

During the weekend, there's been a conversation re-sparking on a very important topic, namely: how can #LOTE3 nourish the unMonastery? Even though LOTE and unMonastery are supposed to be different projects, what can we, Edgeryders, do for the local community and for this event to bring us together in the best way? Follow the discussion and pitch in with ideas, very much appreciated!

Proposal for a #tech #upskill track

Basically, to survive in the online environment (with our projects), we need to do many things by ourselves. But how to get started, and which tools are best to use? How to make things like video, design, coding, without any prior knowledge? This track proposes to develop the necessary know-how and abilities to find answers in the context of Internet that never sleeps and yesterday was too late to start. What do you think?

Living on the Edge (LOTE) is a 4 day event in October 2013 where we learn how to build great things together and scale the impact of our projects. There’s never been anything like it and you can come, too!
LOTE is a no-spectator event. We keep LOTE free of charge so anyone can afford to attend, and participants are expected to contribute to building a meaningful and generative experience for everyone involved. Everyone can contribute something, whether it is curating a track at the event, facilitating a session, doing fundraising or social media outreach, making a video or helping to coordinate rideshares.
