Hi *|FNAME|*,
We hope you're happy and that 2013 is treating you well so far.
Edgeryders reloaded is gearing up and getting ready to roll.
We are building the kind of thing that connects young, radical ideas with clients. A platform that makes it possible to do good work by acting as an interface that gives more legibility to good people, knowledge and projects. We already have a track record of being able to
We have already brokered a deal with independent Swedish think tank Global Challenge that has generated paid work for members of the community and drawn in new community members to learn from and collaborate with. Nadia, Alberto, Noemi and other community members are currently exploring setting up an Edgeryders social enterprise to generate revenue to cover the costs above and support more projects coming from Edgeryders community.
Over the next 12 months we have two main aims:
-
Providing good work to members of the community by selling knowledge work to clients.
-
Getting a dozen projects hooked up with local or national governments.
We think the future is looking very bright and there are lots of ways to get involved. We are seeking:
Writers: If you are excited, or even concerned, about emerging social innovations and other attempts at contributing towards improving the situation for ourselves and our local communities p2p, Edgeryders is your place to ask questions, reflect on your experience and be heard. If you find yourself getting excited about tons of great initiatives, ask about becoming a Content Curator and writing a monthly review of your favorite projects people and discussions.
Drupal development support: Our new home on the web,
www.Edgeryders.eu is entirely community funded (thank you fabulous Matthias and Arthur!).
To access it: you sign up with a username and password and wait for a confirmation email (lots of spam bots so we activate accounts manually). In the email you get a one time login. Access it, set your new password and next time log in with it. We could use some drupal help, a few hours here or there between now and April 30. Get in touch with @Matjahu on twitter to help.
Core team to organise #LOTE: Remember the mindblowingly awesome experience 200 of us had
in Strasbourg last June? And then the #LOTE2 meetup in December? We'd be nuts not to want to do it again! To make it happen we need a dedicated core team of volunteers. From putting together a strong theme and community-powered program, to shout out calls for participation, to graphic design, to creatively raise funds so we can cover travel costs for everyone. There are things everyone can help with so do get in touch.
Clients: We won’t aggressively seek any until the Edgeryders social enterprise is registered, but if your organization, or one you know, wants to get on board early, we’ll get there faster and smarter.
Startup strategy: We have a lot to figure out. If you’re excited about Edgeryders and have startup experience you want to share, please let us know.
Very much looking forward!
<3 Nadia and Noemi
