Quick tip: Encourage action
Once they’ve opened up, encourage them to access support or to do something that might lighten the load. You could say:
  • “What do you think is a first step that would help you through this?”
  • “What can I do right now to support you?”
  • “Have you spoken to your doctor about this?"
New learning from home resources
R U OK? has released a series of activities that educators can use with students learning from home and through a blended structure of online and face-to-face learning at school.
These activities complement our primary and secondary school toolkits and are designed to encourage students to look out for one another and lend support.
