Social Security In Scotland FREE

The next Thinkspace event will hear from David Wallace, CEO of Social Security Scotland. This new agency has been formed to deliver devolved and new benefits for Scotland. Come and hear what the agency plans to do. This event is targeted at third sector CEOs, directors and managers from across Glasgow.

This a joint event in partnership with Health and Social Care Alliance Scotland.
By the end of the session delegates will:
  • Be informed of the latest development of GIRFEC policy
  • Be familiar with the ALLIANCE GIRFEC ‘Training the Trainer’ resources and language
  • Continue to support children and young people to improve wellbeing using a variety of new resources
  • Feel confident to use these resources to plan and evaluate their project activities focusing on wellbeing outcomes

Child Poverty Action Plan Briefing FREE

Glasgow is currently working on its Local Child Poverty Action Plan, gathering information and evidence about the work that agencies are doing to alleviate child poverty. They are keen that the work of the third sector is recognised in the plan.This briefing session will hear from Dr Rosie Ilett, the Glasgow Child Poverty Co-ordinator about the developing report and will be provide an opportunity for third sector organisations to input into the process. The event is free and open to all in the Everyone's Children mailing list.

Getting the Right People: Effective Recruitment and Selection Discount for Everyone's Children members

Introduction to Child Protection
Discount for Everyone's Children members

This training is aimed at people who come into contact with children and young people in the course of their work. The aim of this course is to raise awareness of staff and/or volunteers about their responsibilities to protect children from harm, so that they can respond appropriately to concerns about children.

Teasing Out Service User Impacts FREE

Service users often tell us what they think we want to hear and it can therefore take a long time to tease out meaningful impacts. Built to increase participation and awareness of the service users' learning journey, this session is aimed at building those first steps towards a learner’s forum or for learners’ involvement in the planning and delivery of provision.
