National Numeracy Day 2018 

The UK’s first National Numeracy Day is fast approaching. Taking place on 16th May 2018, the Day will be a celebration of the importance of numbers in everyday life. The National Numeracy Day website has a range of, free resources to help people start their journey towards better numeracy.

Children with parents in prison gain new rights

The Council of Europe has issued guidelines that will ensure that children with imprisoned parents are entitled to the same rights as other children, including regular contact with their parents, as long as it is in the child´s best interests. Read more…

Funding

Strategic legal fund (SLF) for vulnerable young migrants

The maximum grant available is £30,000. Grants are available to undertake strategic legal work to benefit children and young people (under the age of 25) who are significantly disadvantaged by migration status. The next closing date for applications is the 4th May 2018. Read more… 


The Kelly Family charitable trust

Funds charities whose activities involve all or most family members, where possible, in initiatives that seek to tackle problems facing one or more of its members. We generally offer grants worth up to £5,000 – though trustees will consider requests for higher amounts. We’re happy to fund charities’ core costs and we encourage applications from relatively new charities to help them become established. Read more…


Book Week Scotlland - event partners

Organisations and community groups are invited to apply for £325 to put on an event as part of Book Week Scotland (19-25 November), an annual celebration of books and reading coordinated by the Scottish Book Trust. Deadline: 4 May 2018. Read more…
