Units of Sound

The Units of Sound course (for adults developing their literacy skills and which is especially suitable for dyslexic learners) runs in Partick Library on a Tuesday Morning 10-12.00. The next course will start end of July. This course is also run for teenagers in Whiteinch library on a Thursday at 3.30-4.30pm and is only run in term times. EPALE’s thematic focus for May was on migrant education. View a summary here. 

ESOL Register Update - GDPR Compliance

WEA plan to send an email / text to those learners who have not yet responded to their initial communication re above. Their deadline for gaining consent is now 1st August and emails will go out shortly from a new email address ( Learners will be asked to reply to the email or text  with a simple Yes or No to confirm if they wish to remain on the register or not.

ESOL Testing & Enrolment - Glasgow Life Community Classes

The Fore Trust: Development Funding and Strategic Support to Early Stage Charities and Social Enterprises

From the 23rd July 2018, small charities, social enterprises and community interest groups will be able to apply for grants of up to £30,000 plus support to unlock growth, sustainability and efficiency. Closing date will be the 3rd September 2018. Find out more… 

WH Smith Trust Community Grants

Grants of up to £500 to voluntary organisations and schools from the proceeds of the compulsory carrier bag levies across the UK. Grants are awarded every six months to charities, schools and community groups of any size, provided they support the community in the UK. Read more…

Bank of Scotland Foundation


Small Grants Programme

The Bank of Scotland Foundation Small Grants Programme accepts applications between £1,000 and £10,000 from charities registered in Scotland. The closing date is 6 July 2018. They particularly wish to help with developing and improving communities.

Medium Grants Programme

The Bank of Scotland Foundation Medium Grants Programme accepts applications between £10,001 and £25,000 from charities registered in Scotland. The closing date is 6 July 2018. They particularly wish to help with: Developing and improving local communities and Financial literacy and financial inclusion
