Volunteer Wiki

Volunteer Wiki, based on the Wikipedia platform, is a new tool to provide quality information on involving volunteers in a flexible and evolving way.
To encourage maximum use by other agencies it has been given a unique URL www.volunteerwiki.org.uk to which people are welcome to link to from their own websites and contributions from other trusted sources are welcomed. If you would like to know more or would like to become a contributor please get in touch with Volunteer Edinburgh.

New website for Visitors to HMP Barlinnie

The Croft at HMP Barlinnie have launched a new website for visitors to the prison offering information on Frequently Asked Questions and a facility for visitors to book an appointment with Croft staff if they would like to speak to someone before or after a visit.

Child Povery Action Group - Animations

If you haven't already seen them, have a look at these animations. Students from the London College of Communication interpreted children's experiences of poverty and made some very powerful short films.

 New National Portal to Tackle Hate Crime in Scotland

Action on Prejudice, the first national portal in the UK to tackle hate crime and prejudice in communities is now live. Find out more.

OSCR Publishes Interim Safeguarding Guidance

Safeguarding Guidance: Keeping vulnerable beneficiaries safe explains what is meant by safeguarding and highlights key steps charity trustees can take to make sure that it is considered in an appropriate way.  The guidance also looks at how charity trustee duties set out in the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 relate to safeguarding issues. Read more...
