Dear <<First Name>>

BANK HOLIDAY weekend changes to opening hours: The shop is going to be closed on Sunday, 1st May and Monday, 2nd May - normal service will resume 10am on Tuesday, 4th May.
Well, hello! It's Friday and a Bank Holiday weekend... woohoo!!! Val & Emma are at the Sandown Quilt Show so it is Karen here writing the newsletter this week. If you were still thinking about visiting us at Sandown, get your skates on as there is only one day (Saturday) left of the show! Tickets can still be purchased on the door.
With lots of prepping fabric bundles, kits, displays and all that is needed to do to get ready for the show, it has been a busy few weeks: now that the show is on the ladies in the shop are enjoying the moment to breath.
What with the sun shining and it being a bank holiday weekend, there is definitely a holiday vibe about the shop - so we've decided to share the love with a FREE UK postage weekend ... read on to find out more!
We have some new patterns and a fabulous new flamingo kit to share with you - let's kick off with Kjersti's Flamingo - which has something of a holiday vibe about it too:
As well as looking after our Mail Order department, Kjersti is a talented designer and illustrator. She has designed several appliqué patterns, which we are delighted to stock, and we love working them up into kits. The latest design of Kjersti's we have kitted out is this fabulous raw-edge fused appliqué Flamingo. It can be made into a wall hanging (measuring approximately 13" by 30") or could be incorporate it into a panel of a larger quilt.
Emma came across these Atkinson Designs patterns and fell for their modern, fresh look. We have two different patterns available - Floating Peaks and Rocky Mountain Runner - both of which can be made from pre-cut fabric packs. Emma has been busily making a few samples. The Floating Peaks Runner has been given the Five + Ten treatment, creating a super saturated and fun runner. The Rocky Mountain Runner has taken on two different looks with a summery make in Tilda Cotton Beach fabrics or a festive feel in a Moda Merry & Bright pre-cut.
We also have three new patterns available in the shop and online - with a fourth on the way - from modern quilter and pattern designer, Modernly Morgan. Val, Emma and I have been swooning over these patterns which all have a star theme. Val has taken the Cozy Cabin pattern - which is a fat quarter friendly pattern that combines classic log cabin and star elements to create a modern design - and made up a shop sample in Liberty fabrics.  Emma nabbed the Little Lights pattern, along with a Speckled Jelly Roll (if you're inspired, be quick - I've heard there is only one of these Jelly Rolls left... assuming Emma hasn't already sold it at Sandown!) and I just love how she has arranged the fabrics to give the stars an alternating warm and cool look.  The Homespun pattern is getting a secret starry fabric treatment (shh... can't give any clues away, as I know it is being made as a gift - if you can keep a secret, click here if you want to see which fabric it is being made up in ... hopefully pictures will follow once it's been gifted).  The final of the four is called Starlets; we should hopefully have this pattern with us and get it on the website in the next fortnight. I am looking forward to making this one with a new basics fabric range which we hope to take delivery of soon. Watch this space and be patient... I'm not the fastest stitcher!
Now, onto that FREE postage weekend I mentioned at the start of the newsletter. Would you like the good or the bad news first?
The bad news is that earlier this month Royal Mail increased their prices for both letters and parcels: regrettably, we will be adjusting our shipping charges to reflect the increased cost in mailing items. Our new standard shipping charges will be advertised on the website in the coming week.
However - the good news - before we make the changes, we would like to offer our UK customers the chance to get in quick with a FREE Postage weekend. To get free postage from this evening through until 5pm on Monday evening, all you need to do is select the "FREE POSTAGE WEEKEND - UK ONLY" option in the shipping details box when checking out and the postage of your order will be on us!
Happy Bank Holiday weekend, Happy Sewing, and - if you are going - Happy Sandown-ing: do pop by and say hello to Val and Emma if you are visiting the show.

Have a great week,

Karen and the Creative Quilting Team
