To Dwell in Community

March 2020 Newsletter

Dear Friend,

Editor's Note: We've had a busy few months, and instead of bogging you down with one enormous newsletter, we thought we'd split our news up amongst 3 separate emails over the next few weeks. Stay tuned!

The Passion Translation of Psalm 133:1 says, "How truly wonderful and delightful to see brothers and sisters living together in sweet unity!" We have seen over the past few years the value of community in our lives.

I (Chrysti) continue to find the Charlotte Mason home school community in the UK a blessing. In November I travelled to Ambleside once again for the annual Charlotte Mason retreat. Every year I go, past friendships are deepened, and new friendships are made. I enjoy connecting with like-minded mamas from across the country. It is a bonus to meet in the beautiful Lake District!

Every year we invite friends around to celebrate Thanksgiving with us. This time we had a few friends from our home school community join us. Our family looks forward to sharing our American traditions with our British friends every year.

We continue to host our small group from church. We enjoy opening our home for our church family because it makes it easier for us to attend as a young family. In October and November, we also hosted a training course in prophetic gifting for church. The course continued into the new year, but with a baby at home, we needed to bow out of hosting and attending.

With all the busyness of our lives, we took a short holiday in the middle of November to rest and spend time as a family before life got even more busy in the lead up to the Christmas holidays. We spent the holiday time at home, and it did not turn out that restful. We spent most of the time battening down the hatches for winter and getting ready for the baby.

A highlight for me (Leon) in November was running a mini virtual IT conference for about 30 attendees with roles in IT around the OM world. The IT Infrastructure team that I lead hosted the conference. We used it as a communication strategy for explaining the vision for global IT services in OM and our emphasis on improving security. We gave updates on our MFA project, password complexity initiative and announced the launch of a user account hygiene project. It was a great way to have a dialogue on the needs of the ministries of OM from an IT perspective.

Prayer Requests

  1. Pray for us as we adjust to being a family of six versus a family of five. Our day-to-day lives are very full (and blessed!).
  2. Praise God for some good, much-needed family down time over the Christmas holidays
How truly wonderful and delightful to see brothers and sisters living together in sweet unity!

God Bless,
