Dear Friend,

Summer is in full swing! We arrived back in the UK with cooler temperatures than we were experiencing in the US when we left. However, this week we get to see temperatures up near 80 Â°F (mid-20s Â°C)! Needless to say, we’re enjoying the sunshine! We’re looking forward to taking advantage of the sunny days in the next few weeks to have barbecues and maybe even do a little walking!

In our June update:

Home again, Home again!

Since arriving back, we’ve had some settling in to do. Asher is now walking all over the place. I (Chrysti) have found it an adjustment to have a toddler walking around our home since Asher wasn’t walking when we left! It’s taken us a few weeks to fall into a new routine.

We have jumped right back into our church involvement with home group, set up team and I (Chrysti) joined the worship team.

Last week we had our annual barbecue to celebrate the 4th of July. We had about two dozen people turn out for our celebration, including our next-door neighbours!

Leon's Back at Work

While in the US I was only able to do minimal IT work for OM. I am really pleased to be able to tackle some of the work that has been piling up while I was away.

A major project I am working on is a 25 user pilot of Office 365 E3 (like Google Apps if you are familiar with it.) We would like to scale it to 3000+ users, but are starting out small to work through all the technical issues. The pricing for charities is almost a steal for what you get. I am pretty excited about the opportunities for increased ministry effectiveness using this solution.

Finally, I have begun to see how DevOps might be helpful for OM. I have been looking at SaltStack as a potential solution for replicating our environment in a standardised way every time.

According to Asher

I want to read you a story!

Prayer Points

  • Praise God we are settling back into life in Carlisle well.
  • We are praising God that we continue to develop a relationship with our neighbours! Pray that this relationship will continue!!
  • Leon has a cyst that might need surgery. After almost 2 rounds of antibiotics, it hasn't gotten better. Please pray for healing, and for wisdom regarding the next step.

Last Days in the US

One of our remaining weeks in the US was spent in Upland, IN at the International Conference on Computing and Mission (ICCM). It was a definite highlight for me (Leon) on this trip. I found it refreshing to chat with many other mission agencies and be able to get training on Office 365 which is very applicable for my ministry with OM.

We also spent a few days in Bloomington without any meetings to attend. It was like a holiday! I (Chrysti) welcomed the break after almost 9 weeks of meetings and traveling. It was nice to get a bit of rest before the big flight back to the UK.

We did put on the miles while in the US. We totalled close to 4,000 miles of driving! That's a lot of driving even by American standards!!
God Bless,

Leon, Chrysti & Asher
