Dear Friend,

Greetings from America! We’ve been in the US for two weeks and travelled 1100 miles already. Asher did very well on his first flight, but it’s been an adjustment for him to ride in the car since we don’t have a car in England. He has been a trooper during all our travelling.

In this update:

Life in Carlisle

Over the Easter weekend, we had a clear day so Leon and I got a babysitter and went on a lovely walk in the Lake District. We had an adventure walking through the deep snow to get to the top of the fell (mountain) we were climbing.

Asher caught chicken pox just before Easter as well. We almost did not recognize it as chicken pox because it was a mild case.

The last month or so brought some unusually cold weather to Carlisle. It finally started to get warmer the week before we left, so we took advantage of it and spent some time outside with Asher. He really enjoys the swing and crawling through grass.

US Travels

Our time in the US has been busy so far. We started off our time with a trip to Michigan and Chicago to meet up with friends and family members. I (Chrysti) have enjoyed catching up with friends from college and camp, as well as family.

The next few weeks we’ll be in the central Illinois area meeting with people. These few weeks are less busy because of my (Leon's) sister's wedding. We are using this time to let Asher become more acquainted with his grandparents. Asher is getting really close to walking!

We’ll also get to celebrate the wedding of Leon’s sister! We're looking forward to celebrating with her. After the wedding, we’ll be heading off to the St. Louis and Kansas City areas.

Leon's Work

I continue to research Office 365 and have had a few meetings with a vendor about this. My research is drastically slowed down by being in the US. Each morning I have a number of emails asking for advice and assistance.

While in the US and away from the computer to a greater extent I am doing more reading of books and thinking how technology can be used in missions. I am enjoying the research.

Prayer Points

  • Praise God for bringing us to the US safely. We’re also thankful that we could get a seat for Asher on both of our flights even though we didn’t purchase a seat for him.
  • Chrysti had to see the doctor urgently today because of a muscle spasm of the back. Pray for a quick recovery and as we travel for it to not recur.
  • Pray for continued safety in our travels.
  • Pray for our meetings with friends and family in the coming weeks. Pray that we’ll be a blessing to those we meet with.
  • Pray for good health while we’re in the US. We’ve been here for 2 weeks, and Asher already has a cold (and Chrysti's back hurts.) Pray that Asher will feel better soon.
God Bless,

Leon, Chrysti & Asher
