Winter 2016

Recent Deliveries from CustomFIRE

"This is the second piece of apparatus we have had CustomFIRE build for us and are extremely pleased in the quality and workmanship put into their vehicles.  We all know there are several quality builders of our equipment for us to invest in, but the thing that really set CustomFIRE apart from the others is their ease to work with and understanding of our needs.  Jim and Wayde have been exceptional in responding to the expectations of our Department and the committee we assigned to see this apparatus build come to completion.  The entire staff at CustomFIRE has been easy to work with throughout the process and the time and attention they paid to our project was second to none.
The finished unit 1361 will give our Department and residents we serve many years of reliable service.
If you are considering upgrading, replacing or adding to your current fleet of apparatus we would highly recommend you consider CustomFIRE for your needs. "

"The Brainerd Fire Department took delivery of our first CustomFIRE apparatus in December 2016.  As a new Fire Chief, I appreciated the level of customer service before and after the sale.  They helped walk us through the HGAC buying process, making it easier to understand.  We were able to design the truck to our specific requests, and the staff was very flexible with our needs and requests; never complaining about changes or 'odd' ideas.  I would highly recommend CustomFIRE to other Fire Departments, as I know our Department will use them again for future purchases."

Product in Focus

Class A Foam is a popular feature of many new fire apparatus, but on a large incident, you can easily empty your on-board foam tank.  Climbing onto the roof of your truck in inclement weather, or in the dark, or on a hill while carrying a heavy pail of foam can be dangerous.  Even back in the station, it's a fall hazard, and a little spill can make a mess of a hose lay and washing it off means foam bubbles down the drain.  Eliminate these hazards with an on-board foam fill, allowing you to siphon foam from the pail on the ground directly into your tank.  We are proud to introduce the FoamJet automatic foam fill, only from CustomFIRE.
The FoamJet features:
  • No high electrical draw like other systems
  • Does not require flushing after use
  • It's rapidly self-priming and self-purging
  • It's not damaged by running dry, unlike rotary or piston pumps currently on the market
  • One button momentary touch operation with indicator light
  • Fast operation, 45 seconds from full 5-gallon pail to full truck, including priming
  • No manual valves to open or close
  • Automatically shuts off when tank is full, simply stick the wand in the foam pail, press the button, and go back to running the truck

Order it with your new apparatus or have your current equipment upgraded to include this feature.
Employee Profile
Jessie Corey began his Career with CustomFIRE back in 1993 as an intern drawing sales drawings. He was in the process of completing his drafting program with Anoka Technical College the first time we tapped his talents. As Jessie created our sales drawings, it was soon easy to tell no other drawings in the industry were more detailed or accurate.

It was hard to keep Jessie out of the shop though and soon, due to his mechanical acumen, he assisted not only with the capital purchase of our very first laser but also the shop infrastructure modifications required to bring it to production and kept it humming for 20+ years.  Now in 2016, 20-years later, Jessie repeated that process for us and both lasers are up and cutting. Over time Jessie took on more and more responsibility for ensuring smooth production flow, ordering long lead time items and working hard with the Sales Staff, even doing some of their meetings if double booked. It didn’t take long for him to end up with his own sales accounts and he became a highly praised Sales Rep with quite a few repeat customers in areas of Minnesota and Wisconsin. For the past few years, Jessie has tied it all together for us, becoming the most knowledgeable and well-rounded Production Manager you will ever find. He’s an integral part of our CustomFIRE family and always there for us.

Jessie lives in the Center City, Minnesota area and farms for fun.  Between the CustomFIRE demands and his own farm, there is not much time for leisure but he sure does enjoy his Arctic Cat when those times arise.
