Scouting Conference February 11, 2017

Join Scouters from across Voyageurs Area Council on February 11 at the Scouting Conference. Complete the training you need to be considered trained in your Scouting position, including Chartered Organization Representative. Enjoy hands on, interactive, and fun training environments while sharing best practices with experienced and novice leaders. Cost is $20 or $10 if you choose to bring your own lunch.

In addition to the training, there will be sessions to inform you about our Strategic Plan and about changes to the Cub Scout Program that have recently gone into effect. Be sure to mark your calendar!

Last Chance to Nominate for Silver Beaver

The Silver Beaver Award is presented by the National Council, Boy Scouts of America, through the local Council to adult volunteer Scouters for their distinguished service to youth and their community. The award is intended to acknowledge noteworthy service of exceptional character to youth by registered Cub Scouters, Scouters, Varsity Scouters and Venturing leaders within the territory under the jurisdiction of the local Council. The deadline was February 1, but has been extended to February 8. Nominate today!

It is considered the highest award a Boy Scout Council can bestow on a volunteer Scouter. NOMINATION MATERIALS

Nominate an outstanding volunteer Scouter for your district

The District Award of Merit is a council award presented by districts in the same manner that the Silver Beaver is a national award presented by councils. The award is available to Scouters who render service of an outstanding nature at the district level.  The District Award of Merit is presented to the recipients at district Scouter recognition dinners. Plan to submit your nomination at least 14 days prior to the district dinner to be considered.
