Sunday’s New York Times Editorial Board calls upon Congress to legalize marijuana for recreational use nationwide. Here is the Times editorial:

Smart Approaches to Marijuana (SAM) and National Families in Action (NFIA) are sending a request to our affiliates/members/Marijuana Report readers to bombard the Times with letters to the editor stressing why legalization is a bad idea.

Here is information from The New York Times about how to write and send a letter to the Times:

http://www.nytimes.com/content/help/site/editorial/letters/letters.html

And here are helpful hints from the Media Awareness Project, a pro-legalization organization founded in 1995, about how to write a letter to the editor and get it published. These folks have motivated literally thousands of supporters to write letters to the editor of newspapers nationwide. Their effort has helped sway public opinion over the years. Time to take a page from their book!

Finally, here are talking points, myths/facts/ and other points from SAM's website that might help you write your letters:

Thanks everyone who follows up with this!
