|Welcome New Members!
Although the weather hasn't made up its mind, fall is upon us! We would like to welcome our new members and thank you for your support - our work is entirely dependent on your contributions and input.
We hope to make this year a very productive one, as we get started on several short and long-term projects, including:
We are also taking steps to prepare for the arrival of the Expo Rail Line and ensure that local businesses benefit from the increased traffic to our area, as well as solving traffic calming and sidewalk display issues.
Bi-weekly street cleaning and trash removal program, including more trash receptacles
Improved bicycle parking
E-Waste recycling program
St. Patty's Day festival
Discount program for Waste Management services
New farmers' market
If you are interested in being a part of any of our projects, please send us an email. We could especially use volunteers to help plan logistics for the farmers' market.
Please don't hesitate to contact us with your ideas, questions, and comments. We hope to make our organization a fully interactive part of the community where we can work on common issues together.

Public Art on Motor
Did you know Motor Avenue is host to not only some beautiful pieces of public art, but also several art studios? Check out the examples below:
Boombang; art by German graffiti artists MA'Claim, supported by LA Art Machine and the German Foreign Office as part of Vox Humana
Have we missed one, or know of another piece of great public art in the neighborhood? Let us know!
The broken basketball hoop in Woodbine Park will be replaced soon!
We are working to secure funding for watering our street trees for an additional year. However, if you see a thirsty tree, please water it!
Irish Times Community Meeting Recap
On Thursday, September 16, we hosted a community meeting at Irish Times to provide a forum for any complaints or issues regarding the restaurant and bar. There were no complaints.
If you were unable to make it to the meeting but have any comments for Irish Times management, please contact us!

Expo Line Updates
The Expo Line has been making slow but relatively steady progress in our direction in the past few months. Unfortunately, according to the LA Times, recent problems are delaying it even more:
You can keep up with construction and news at our website, Friends4Expo.org and lightrailforcheviot.org/.
Take a "virtual ride" along the Phase 2 track!
