My 12 years in the land of OZ is finally coming to a close.  It's a bittersweet but extremely exciting transition, I'm very thankful for all I've been able to accomplish and contribute to this city.  I have so many incredible memories here but it's time for me to take all that I've built and take it to the next level back home in Los Angeles.  Thank you to everyone who has supported me whether it be coming out to hear my sets at venues around the city, enjoying the marvel that was Insert Coin(s) during my time as Music/Creative Director there, and of course my beloved Pop-Up series.

I have had the privilege to leave a watermark on this fascinating city that I will forever be proud of, I have met some pretty incredible and talented people along the way. I will always remember those who supported me and  campaigned the gospel of good music and diversity along side me.  I met every goal I set for myself as a professional woman in this often times incestuous and passive aggressive boys town because I never let anything or anyone stand in the way of reaching my goals...and hopefully I inspired a few professional women to do the same.

I will continue to produce Pop-Up "LIVE" with spots dates in 2017 and DJ sets in Vegas after I move in mid January.  I'm actually kind of excited to be a visitor again.  Vegas will always be my second home and I am excited to share my new opportunities with the talented hard working creatives that I've discovered and worked with during my Sin City journey.

Thank you to Melinda Sheckells of Vegas Seven for this "Exit Interview" and Ian C. for the words.  It's a beautiful send off!

I launched this series in November of 2015 with a small DJ driven party at The Ghostbar as a re-occuring rotating party, a true pop-up, with hopes of it growing roots and filling the void that is so missed with the closing of Insert Coin(s).

The Pop-Up party evolved into a live music series six months later with the incomparable Anderson .Paak at The House of Blues.  It was one of by best memories in Vegas and biggest accomplishments.  Thank you to DJ Pizzo of Las Vegas Weekly for naming that show as one of the "Best Concerts of 2016" in the end of year issue that just dropped.
To the following DJs, artists, musicians, bands, promoters, writers, and creatives for your talent and support of The Pop-Up series!

Adrian Miller and Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals, The Foreign Exchange, Brittany Rose, Cameron Calloway, The First Sun, The American Weather, The Rabid Young, Musket Vine, E-Swift, Shana Tucker, Jessenia Paz, Reginald Johnson, Nick Derry, Tray Charles, Coco Jenkins, and Gyasi Greer - Thank you for making this series come to LIFE!

Two of my favorite Vegas music scene heroes Coco Jenkins and Arturo Cecena of

2016 was disappointing in many ways, but NOT when it came to music!
There were wayyyy to many great releases this year and
I wish I had the time to name all of my favorites but
here's a short list of ones to check out if you haven't already!
Quite possibly my favorite album of 2016 touching on all of my favorite genres all wrapped up into one perfect album.  feat. some of my favorite artists - Phonte, Little Dragon, River Tiber, Anderson .Paak, Syd of The Internet, Aluna George etc.  I mean C'MON!!!!! #Brilliant
I LOVE this album.  It fit so many moods for me this year and it was so refreshing to see a music industry cultivated pop star take her career into her own hands and put out a record that was light years from ground control.
It's still hard to believe the Phifer is gone in physical form but don't call it a comeback!  Packed with amazing guest verses from Busta to Elton John this piece of art was the most therapeutic album to come out in 2016 it healed so many emotions. It was college for the millennials and church for the golden era.  Thank you ATCQ, you can take it from here!
Stones Throw always delivers that outside the box feel and this out of nowhere release by producer Vex Ruffin featuring legend Fab 5 Freddy, quite possibly one of the coolest men on the planet, was one of the best surprises of 2016!
The video is beyond fly you can check it out here
James Joint was one of my many favorite's off Rihanna's ANTI album and when I first saw this cover posted on social media I was skeptical BUT they took this song and made it their own elevating it to a whole other level!
End of year brought some heat!  Dynamic NY duo denitia and sene dropped Love & Noir in November and it's filled with celestial electronic soul vibes perfect for  winter nights.  Brian Marc is not only one half of denitia and sene, and absolutely gorgeous, but also an actor with a ton of buzz surrounding his new film "White Girl" out now in select theatres.  I had this duo twice at Insert Coins and not only is their live show great they are amazingly fun humans!
Four local ladies/creatives to keep your eye on in 2017!
Not only one of my favorite DJs but one of the most creative people I've had the pleasure to have in my world professionally and personally.  She has an social media driven style shop called Crykit's Playhouse and a re-occuring party of the same name .  I took her on as one of my lead resident DJs at Insert Coins in 2012 and we had a residency every Saturday night together where we created a sound all our own. We rocked endless sets together from the glory days of downtown to my Pop-Up series and what I love most about our friendship is we laugh like fools together.  She is like a little sister to me...she is so many things but at the core of it all she is a Unicorn Gypsy with a heart of gold.
Follow the hilarious quiet storm Camille Cannon @skirrtdotcom for daily laughs via her interviews and videos and all things hip hop.  I had the pleasure of working with her this year on the Pop-Up Anniversary and this young talent is one to keep your eye on not only online and in print, but on camera as well!

This woman is smart, genuine, and beyond creative.  It was a pleasure meeting her this year and we will def be working together in the future.  Raw Femme began as online publication that put a spotlight on the talent of emerging female artists, but has quickly transformed into a society that unites ambitious and innovative women from around the world, and we’re spreading like wildfire. We are a multi-faceted, artistically inclined platform fueled by creative and artistic women that hosts local female-centric events, produces online editorial content, and collaborates with other like-minded organizations. Are you feeling inspired yet? - look out for upcoming events from Amanda "Rawky" Lozano as she makes her mark in 2017

Ms. Coco Jenkins, the unconventional socialite and darling of downtown! ...Who not only created the social media platform for music lovers Nothing To Do LV, but is also a bass players, music teacher, and budding entrepreneur.  I adore this girl she's worked with me for years and I wish her nothing but the best!
@NothingToDoLV on Instagram and Twitter.
2016 was one hell of a year!  I hope everyone had a beautiful holiday and from my family to yours HAVE A HEALTHY and PROSPEROUS 2017! Thank you to everyone who constantly supports me, especially this unicorn, my amazing mother Judy, my best friends Raul Daniels and Jolene Mannina and my family of friends who held me down and lifted me up this year.

I'll be back with new blog posts once I get settled into my new place in LA and as usual be sharing all people, places, musc, and things I love this time live and direct from Los Angeles!  I have been away from LA for 12 years so it will be a whole new adventure for me!

Leaving Las Vegas is exciting to say the least but I will always cherish my years here and be grateful for every moment I experienced.  It made me stronger than I could ever imagine.  Farewell but not Goodbye...
