The City of Grand Rapids accepted applications for medical marijuana facilities on March 4. As part of their application, medical marijuana business owners must write a Good Neighbor Plan and present it to the community.
The Creston Neighborhood Association is holding a Land Use Committee Meeting and inviting the public to attend. During this meeting, Green Skies - Healing Tree, LLC will present their plan and answer any questions the community may have. Green Skies was chosen to present first to the Grand Rapids Planning Commission next Thursday, May 23th.
They are intersted in 3 properties, 1234 Plainfield NE, 3423 & 3425 Planfield Ave NE.
Join your neighbors on Thursday, May 16 at 6:30pm at 205 Carrier St NE, 49505 (Community Room), to learn and share your perspective.
Contact CNA staff members Megan Kruis (email@example.com) or Kymie Spring (firstname.lastname@example.org) 616-454-7900 with any questions
THANK YOU, neighbors and friends for a wonderful Art Bash for Creston presented by Lake Michigan Credit Union on May 2.
Neighborhood creatives, business people, civic leaders, activists and residents all came together to raise meaningful dollars for our work of building a diverse community where all neighbors may thrive. In more than a decade of the event, 2019 was our most successful. Thank you!

Did you know we have a community garden behind our building? The Creston Community Garden provides gardening opportunities for Creston neighbors, for the Catherine's Health Center's Wise Women program and for Artists Creating Together.
Volunteers will be able to take a strawberry plant home, and we'll have additional strawberry plants for sale for $5 each as long as supplies last.

This will be an opportunity to bring kids and/or come to get BLOCK PARTY information, especially for those who have already said they want a BLOCK PARTY. We have handed out a lot of BLOCK PARTY kits and have knocked on over 450 doors this spring to share this opportunity with neighbors. VERY EXCITING!
The goal of BLOCK PARTIES is 3-fold:
Meet neighbors and establish some lines of communication in the event of a serious situation
Recruit neighbors who are willing and able to become BLOCK CONNECTORS and keep neighbors informed of important issues and events. We have replaced Block Captains and Neighborhood Watch program with BLOCK CONNECTORS.
Saturday, July 13, 4pm-11pm
On Plainfield Ave NE from Leonard St-Grove St.
Creston After Dark is a street party, and it's an opportunity to activate and beautify our neighborhood.
Before the big event, everyone in our community is invited to prepare for Creston After Dark by contributing financially, helping with a beautification clean-up, and neighborhood artists will create 6 new murals on Plainfield. Proceeds from the event will help maintain a new public trash program on Plainfield.
To prepare for the big event, we're planning a neighborhood-wide beautification project on June 22. This neighborhood clean-up will be a great opportunity for a group of friends or families to volunteer together, for school service hours, or for a church group.
We have recently heard reports of residents dumping yard waste in our city parks.
Please be aware that our city parks are not a refuse disposal site. It is illegal to dump residential yard waste in them. If you live near one of our parks, you may have already witnessed this. If you notice anyone dumping yard waste in one of our neighborhood parks during the week, you can call 311 to report it. If it is in the evening or weekend, please call the GRPD non-emergency number at 456-3400.
Please help the parks personnel to keep our parks looking their best so we all can enjoy their natural beauty.
