“Marketing an individual product or attraction can be an expensive and time intensive process for an industry operator. Marketing at a destination level through a collaboration effort between industry stakeholders can help to gain time and cost efficiencies and identify new market potential. Destination marketing can also lead to extended length of stay and increased expenditure within a region.”

Dubbo Regional Council's Great Business Program for 2019 wrapped up on Thursday April 4th with over 120 people attending the Dubbo RSL to watch presentations from two speakers and also see the awarding of Grants and Prizes to the winning businesses and projects. This was followed by a great networking event at the “Dubvegas Casino” fun night on the Rooftop Terrace with a mini casino set up for the participants to have fun, mingle and meet other Dubbo Region entrepreneurs, service providers and attendees!

The first presentation was from Findex and Tim Dwyer, who is a Consultant, Entrepreneur, Mentor and Keynote Speaker. He spoke about building solid foundations for growth, measuring your metrics, and how to be ready for growth in 2019

Tim walked us through the trip of growth for a business looking at how to drive a business using:
  • Margin – Brand, Product and Automation
  • Revenue – Channels, Sales and Delivery
  • Management – Money Resources and Skills
He also spoke about spending time on generating revenue (70%) Growth (20%) with Management (10%) to produce space to enjoy your passions with time for health and wealth. Leadership and Culture underpin the management of the business. He followed this up with small group sessions which were free to attend the next day, to go through individual feedback and questions.

Steve Semmens (aka The Persuader) talked through “The Good the Bad and the Ugly of Networking”. He showed that networking was “working” and if treated as such it could develop business relationships of great value and benefit. When networking we need to be careful to:
  • Listen;
  • Work on remembering the name of the person you are talking with;
  • Not drink too much alcohol
  • We then used the DubVegas casino to practice our new networking skills

Mayor of the Dubbo Region, Clr Ben Shields with Mark Tipping, President of the Tesla Owners Club of Australia charging into the future.

Dubbo Regional Council was pleased to officially open a Tesla Supercharger station at the Western Plains Cultural Centre in Wingewarra Street this month. The new station will feature four Supercharging bays.

Councillor Dayne Gumley said this charging station will allow the Dubbo Region to be placed on the Tesla charging map. “We are excited to share that Western Plains Cultural Centre is a new charging site in the Tesla Supercharger network,” said Mr Gumley.

“These additions to the network of Tesla Superchargers will make the Dubbo Region attractive for Tesla owners as they can travel to and from our region and charge their vehicle when here or on their way to other locations,” he said.

Conveniently located close to the Central Business District we encourage Tesla tourists to stop by for a bite to eat, wander through the gallery and a charge. Located at the Western Plains Cultural Centre the new Tesla Superchargers will help Tesla drivers have a quick and seamless experience when traveling long distances.

The Tesla Supercharger at the Western Plains Cultural Centre is available for charge 24 hours a day seven days a week for up to 120kW.

Dubbo welcomed members of the Tesla community from as far as Sydney, Brisbane and the Gold Coast to celebrate the occasion. This inclusion will be complimented by an additional charger from the NRMA which is scheduled to be active from May 2019.
