Goodbye January and Hello Trolley Night! Tonight is the first Trolley Night of the Year. South Main Sounds' 5th Anniversary Show takes place on Friday, January 31st! The International Blues Challenge wraps up on February 1st. Cut Chemist, a renowned DJ and founding member of rap groups Jurassic 5 and Grammy Award-winning Ozomatli, will be at Central Station Hotel this Saturday!

One Beale Project Leads to Temporary Road Closures in Downtown Memphis

From January 27th to February 10th, Beale Street between Riverside Drive and Front Street will be shut down during the day. Work hours are between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.  Read More>>

Food Trucks, Brick-and-Mortar Restaurants are Key Ingredients to Economic Growth 

By leveraging the success of the Collierville location — which sees many suburbanites who work in the Downtown area — and the food truck, we introduced Stix to the area and prepped its 26,000 residents and 70,000 professionals for what is to come at our second location. Doing it this way allows you to gather feedback from customers about what they would like to see in your next, or first, brick-and-mortar. And, it helps you build excitement prior to opening. 

Excellent food is one of the catalysts behind Downtown Memphis’ rapid growth, and I look forward to seeing how both brick-and-mortar restaurants and mobile cuisine impact the area in the future. The best is yet to come.  Read More>>

Memphis in May Hosts Volunteer Expo

Volunteers are needed in a variety of roles, and opportunities to serve abound in each facet of the Festival; from the Beale Street Music Festival and International Salute to Ghana, to the World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest and the Great American River Run.

“As one of the largest civic festivals in the United States, Memphis in May requires the assistance of hundreds of volunteers who share a passion for Memphis and enjoy this opportunity to present our culture to the world while being part of the biggest events Memphis hosts each year,” said James L.
