Dear Friend,

This letter is to invite you to consider joining us for something new and unprecedented – to be a part of history in the making!

For the first time ever, the 2020 Annual Sessions for Northwest Yearly Meeting will be held 100% online, and we would like for you and others in your church family to be a part of this exciting experience with us!

How can you get in on this really great experience? Simply click on the button that says: “Register Today."  That button (found in this Connection newsletter and on the nwfriends.org website) will take you to our very simple registration form. After you complete that form, you will receive immediate confirmation that you are registered for Yearly Meeting, and then you should receive an email confirmation with a link to our special 2020 Annual Sessions webpage (check your spam filter if you do not see an email right away). At that location, starting this coming Sunday afternoon, you will find many other links that begin to open to a wide variety of online opportunities to connect, to meet, to be inspired, and to be challenged. Unlike most years, registration is FREE in an attempt to eliminate any barriers to participation (you will notice a donate button for anyone who would like to help offset our expenses)!

We look forward to sharing in this unique opportunity with you,

Jim Le Shana
Superintendent

NWYM really believes in missions! In fact, “normally” we have two separate banquets in Newberg that focus on missions and that raise money to support what the Lord is doing around the world.

During this unprecedented year, we have combined our efforts and will be focusing together on not one, but TWO mission fields that we sponsor in our giving and prayer through EFM on Sunday at 5:00 pm (PST).  EFM is our missions sending agency for NWYM.  We have invited Dan Cammack, the Executive Director of EFM to share a few words with us about an exciting new vision for EFM, and then he will be introducing and interviewing two missionary couples.

To participate, please register for Yearly Meeting Sessions!  This event will not be recorded and able to be watched at a later date.  The project we are raising funds for this year is to support the ongoing ministry of a family in Asia and missions mobilization for Hispanic Friends.

Calling All Youth
We want to encourage the youth and young adults in your church to sign up for Yearly Meeting! There is no cost.  Their contact information allows us to send them a zoom link to two youth sessions.
The most important of those sessions is the opportunity to hear from our main speaker, Joseph Clair, where he will be talking with the youth at 3:00 pm (PST) on Tuesday on "Thriving".  It will be followed by an open discussion between youth on zoom.

The other youth session is an inter-generational interview with "older saints among us" in which the older saints tell stories of difficult times in their past, how their faith helped them through - how they thrived during that time.  It will be at 11:30 am (PST) on Monday.  Again, we need students to register for YYM so we have their contact information to send the zoom link to.  The interviews will occur on zoom in teams of two or three youth per older adult.  This was a very popular event last year and one the youth wanted to be repeated.
NWYM Board Reports Info
If you would like to begin reading the board clerk reports, you can access a working document here.  As reports are submitted, a new version of the booklet will be created and the final document will be provided to those that register to participate in the virtual Annual Sessions.
