Church Planting In
Northwest Yearly Meeting
Church Planting is moving forward in Northwest Yearly Meeting!  Metolius Friends Community Church officially launched the Bend Friends Church on August 29! The church has been praying, planning, and waiting on God’s perfect timing during this season.  We are so excited to celebrate with them the birth of this new church, as they aim to reach people for Jesus in Bend!  Congratulations!  Please pray with them as they continue to take their first baby steps forward!

Nick and Yolanda LeMonds were commissioned by their sending church, Friends Community Church in Brea, on August 15th.  Along with their baby daughter, Aliza, they moved from southern California to Oregon this past week.  Nick grew up in Newberg and he received his Bachelor’s degree from Barclay College.  Both Nick and Yolanda received Master’s degrees from the Friends Center at Azusa Pacific University last year.  They feel called to plant a church in the greater Portland area.  Please pray with them as they begin to build relationships, raise support, connect with a parent church and partner churches, and reach people for Christ!

Pastor's Advance
The “Pastor’s Advance” is coming October 11-14 at Twin Rocks Friends Camp.  You may remember that our theme for NWYM this year is “Moving Forward.”  The Pastor’s Advance is a  leadership retreat for pastors and spouses that will provide an opportunity for the sharing of best ministry practices and for spiritual refreshment, helping us continue to “move forward” together as Friends.
