Northwest Ministry Connections
 Greenleaf Friends Academy
This is the second article in our series of Ministry Connections in NWYM.  The article was written before students transitioned to working from home due to the COVID-19 restrictions.  Please hold the teachers and students in your prayers as they finish strong this school year.  If you want to see some fun photos of students learning from home, visit their website!

This past spring, we received a grant from the J.A. and Kathryn Albertsons Family Foundation for our start-up funds to begin the basic engineering class.  This is the first in our series of CTE (Career Technology Education) classes we will begin offering.
Mason Kreamer, HS Math teacher is teaching our current Basic Engineering class.   He says, “in basic engineering, students are using guided tutorials to work through designing and assembling of three-dimensional models. Using the STEM model of learning, students can work at their own pace as they follow the instructions towards designing intricate mechanisms on the SolidWorks software that is used within the engineering profession.
Students are encouraged to work together as they each create their models on gaining an understanding over the basic operations of the function of this program so that they can design more intricate and complicated structures in the future.”   We are excited to announce that GFA is the only school in the Treasure Valley offering this type of  basic engineering course of study.  As we continue to see the growth and interest in our Career Technology Education, new classes will be offered in hopes that this will help our students become excited about future careers in this field.

Easter Offering
Dear Friends,

Life has felt uncertain over the past few weeks and the world around us has changed. It is in times like this that we can rely on our God, who is certain and unchanging. He is constant and holding us so that we do not have to be afraid. The God that we worshiped two weeks ago is the same God today and will be the same God tomorrow.

As you plan how to continue ministry during this time, I encourage you to use EFM's Easter Offering lessons as a resource to any ministries within your congregation. The lessons can work with all age groups and tell the story of Evangelical Friends’ missionary-sending efforts over the last 133 years. They also give an idea of what lies ahead. You can access them by clicking here.

This offering supports our ministries in Bangladesh, Bhutan, Haiti, Hungary, India, Ireland, Mexico, Nepal, Philippines, Romania, Rwanda, and Thailand. It helps remind us that the good news of Jesus’ death and resurrection is not meant to be kept to ourselves. We are commanded by Jesus himself to share it both at home and abroad.

Our prayers are with you during this difficult time as you prepare to lead your congregation in celebrating the resurrection of our Lord Jesus. He is risen!
Your fellow servant in Christ,

Dan Cammack
Executive Director
